National School Counseling Week 2024, “School Counseling: Better Together,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), is being celebrated from Feb. 5–9, 2024, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success, plan for a career, and ensure our students continue to receive the care and guidance they need. A few students are doing an exercise to simulate vision and hearing impairment experienced by the elderly. They had to put tape over their eyes and cotton in their ears, then try to hear soft voices and read small print. They also had to tape their fingers to see how buttoning could be a difficult task if fingers were affected by arthritis symptoms.
