Congratulations to rising Junior, Emily Thomas for her nomination and acceptance as the new Student State Representative for BeStrong Global!
Emily works at using the Be Strong Resiliency skills and applies them to her everyday life. Over the last two years, Emily has started training other students on how to incorporate these skills into their daily lives! Emily always brings new ideas and creativity to completing monthly volunteer projects.
Emily’s increase in confidence and bravery this year has allowed her to be creative in putting together ways to spread kindness in the community and ways for everyone in the school to get involved. Emily has become passionate about organizing school wide activities that allow students to have fun, make friendships, and help meet new people. Emily also finds great joy in searching for unique We Dine Together icebreakers which has enticed a growing number of NCA students to participate in the once a week meetings.
NCA School Counselor and BeStrong Staff Advisor, Rita Overmier said "I can not imagine a more perfect student to demonstrate what Be Strong stands for at NCA than Emily. Emily goes above and beyond by making a point to talk to new students, sits with lonely students in class and lunch, helps others when they need a friend and tends to put others before herself".
