What subjects and grades are offered?

North Central Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum for grades 6-12. Full curriculum in the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Programs also include behavioral, emotional, social, absenteeism, and family/life crisis issues.

How much does it cost?

North Central Academy provides quality education at no cost to students.

What type of students can enroll?

Many grade 6-12 students with the North Central Ohio region have unique issues that prohibit success in the traditional school setting. Issues include behavior, attendance, grade failure, discipline, lack of motivation, emotional and life crisis concerns. The belief of North Central Academy is that unique personal intervention strategies at intense levels must occur for the success of each student.

When does the school open?

North Central Academy will open on or before September 30, 2009 and the academic calendar will closely follow the sponsor district’s calendar.

What happens if my child struggles with the work?

Students will be assessed to identify their needs and individual educational goals will be created for each student. Interventions will be provided in a variety of formats (i.e., small group instruction, tutoring, team-teaching, and web-based assisted learning).

How does North Central Academy help all students meet state standards?

The core program incorporates components of the A+ assessment and curriculum courseware which is aligned to the Ohio Academic Content Standards to better prepare North Central Academy students to reach benchmarks, while providing them a 21st century technological learning experience. The A+ program provides a springboard for staff to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs within the classroom.

How can I enroll my child?

Where is the school located?

North Central Academy offers locations in Tiffin and Fremont. The Tiffin Campus is located at 67 St. Francis Avenue and the Fremont Campus is located at 500 West State Street.

What parental involvement does this school offer?

North Central Academy will offer quarterly parent teacher conferences in attempt to inform parents about their child’s social and academic growth in core subject areas. The school will send out monthly newsletters to inform parents about happenings in the school. Newsletters will offer parents tips on how to promote both social and academic growth. In addition, monthly parenting classes in conjunction with the court system will be provided to support the learning environment at home.
